Hi, I’m Kate,
As a Canadian Certified Counsellor and mindfulness facilitator, I am honoured to help people deepen their connection to themselves and the ones they care about most. I have completed my master’s degree in counselling psychology with additional studies in Systemic Family Therapy. I have a wide range of experience providing therapeutic support to children, adults, couples, and families. This work includes a decade of contributions promoting positive mental health in the public school system, as well as internships with Carya Family Counselling and the Calgary Family Therapy Centre. I believe that healing happens in relationship; I help individuals, couples and families develop greater insight into their emotions, patterns of interaction and collaboratively solve problems, leading to enhanced ease, joy and connection. My approach to therapy is integrative, weaving Narrative, Family-Systems, Solution-focused, and Attachment-based theories, and modalities into my work. I believe in the mind-body connection and incorporate the power of present-moment awareness into my practice. Life can be messy. We can feel overwhelmed and exhausted when ourselves, or our loved ones are suffering, and want nothing more than to find a solution. No one is meant to do it alone. Together, we will create solutions for your specific situation, which may include family stress/conflict, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, emotional distress, grief/loss, school-related issues, parenting stress or life transitions. People describe me as calm, compassionate, a skilled listener, genuine, present, and supportive. I work in collaboration with clients to co-construct goals and solutions that create positive change. I take care of my mental well-being by moving my body in the outdoors, appreciating beauty, connecting with loved ones, practicing meditation and continually learning. It is a privilege for me to support folks in deepening their connection with themselves and the ones they care about most. I look forward to supporting you in creating meaningful shifts in your relationships and well-being. Warmly, Kate |
