Hey, I’m Kelsey and I’m so grateful you have landed here. Saskatchewan girl born and raised on the prairies. I am a wife, and mom to two amazing little humans - balancing running my brick-and-mortar studio in Lloydminster, motherhood and everything in between.
My journey into the yoga world began in my 20’s, as an avid runner I leaned on yoga asana to create a space to stretch and incorporate strength into my routine. Flash forward to 2016 following the sudden passing of my husband - I was navigating trauma and grief with the help of traditional therapy (which I keep up regularly) and eventually found myself back on my mat. However, this time my experience was so different. It was a place to feel my emotions and take a moment just for myself and not just be the 26-year-old widow. In 2020 I married my now husband Tyler, and we welcomed our first child earth side in 2021. A new mom navigating a worldwide pandemic I found myself riddled with anxiety, experiencing panic attacks and ruminating on trauma that I thought was in my past. It was here that I was introduced to somatic therapy and found so much success and healing through finally being able to feel safe in my own body again. I found a lot of links and similarities with somatic therapy and yoga and felt a pull to take my 200 hr YTT while on my maternity leave to deepen into my own practice. When I returned to work, I was an entirely different person with new priorities and as much as I wanted to return to the cooperate world (or thought I did) my whole sense of being told me no. I quit my job while enrolled in my 300hr training with Canmore Counselling’s Trauma- Informed Yoga Training and it quite honestly changed my life in more ways than I could have imagined and in all the best ways. It was during this training we found out we were expecting our second baby. And not long after wrapping my 300-hr training, I took my prenatal training while pregnant with my daughter. I began offering some classes in my yard and basement and after my daughter was born I found a space to lease and open my very own studio space in 2023! I have a passion and special interest in working with folks who are pre and postnatal and offer these styles of classes in my studio. There is nothing that feels more meaningful with my journey to be supporting folks in this stage of life. Because of this I decided to continue my learning journey by taking my birth doula certification and got to attend and support my firth birth in 2025. To say I am grateful would be an understatement. In addition, I teach all levels classes with the intention of being inclusive and welcoming. My favourite styles to teach are Yin & Restorative and classes, and slow flow/gentle movement. In addition to pre & postnatal I have interest in specializing in the field of grief, trauma and mental health. I consider myself a lifetime learner and I can’t wait to see where this yoga therapy journey takes me. |
