Molly is a psychotherapist specializing in the full spectrum of women’s reproductive lives - from trying to conceive through parenthood. Grounded in psychodynamic theory, her clinical work is depth-oriented, relational, and somatically informed. She is also a yoga and meditation teacher whose approach is influenced by Buddhist philosophy and mindfulness.
She earned a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where her thesis, “The Mythology and the Shadow of the Pill,” examined the effects of hormonal birth control on women’s mood and libido. Following the traumatic birth of her daughter and her own experience with postpartum depression and anxiety, Molly felt called to support others through the tender rite of passage into motherhood. She deepened her study of birth and maternal mental health through advanced psychotherapy training with Postpartum Support International and has since supported hundreds of women and families through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, reproductive loss, and the identity transition of motherhood. Drawing on both her clinical experience and personal journey, Molly founded Life After Birth in 2017. Through Life After Birth, she and her team offer individual and couples therapy, process-oriented support circles, postpartum planning, and annual retreats for mothers. After years of supporting women through the profound metamorphosis of motherhood, Molly expanded the Life After Birth community and now mentors and supervises a team of master’s-level clinicians developing expertise in reproductive and perinatal mental health. She has been featured as a perinatal mental health expert in Vogue, Parents, and on KTLA. |
