Sliding Scale Counselling for the Canmore Pride Community
We’re so glad you’re here!
Canmore Counselling is a proud member of the Bow Valley Pride Network.
We are partnering with Canmore Pride to offer sliding scale counselling for 2SLGBTQIA+ folks. This offering is available to folks living in Alberta who are connected to the Canmore Pride community :)
Chey Johns (she/her) and Nicole Lightning-Strongman (she/her) are practicum counsellors with Canmore Counselling, and both identify as members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Counselling is available virtually across Alberta, and Chey also offers in-person sessions in Canmore every second Tuesday.
Both Chey and Nicole's counselling care is supervised by Dr. Melissa Jay (she/her), Registered Psychologist
What to Expect
Cost and Payment
Full Cost: $110 / 60 min session
Access (Middle): $60 / 60 min session
Access (Low): Under $60 / 60 min session
(pro-bono and lower rates available if finances are a barrier)
Sliding Scale Rates Explained
Full Cost: This reflects the actual cost of running a session, including things like preparation and admin work. If you're able to pay this amount, it helps support the sustainability of these services.
Access (Middle): This is for folks who can cover their basic needs but don’t have much left over. Paying the full rate might be tough, but this option still feels doable without causing financial stress.
Access (Low): This is for anyone who’s having a hard time meeting their basic needs. If paying full price would make things harder for you, this tier is here to help.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 48 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a 50% fee. Please contact your counsellor directly to cancel or reschedule.
