Practice Across the Lifespan
This specialty training brings together three distinct areas of yoga teaching and care within one relational, trauma-informed learning experience. We will gather for six live Zoom weekends and self-paced learning, we will explore ways of adapting yoga practices to support children and teens, pregnancy and postpartum experiences, and rest, restoration, and nervous system care. Rather than approaching each certification as a separate collection of techniques, we will continue returning to the foundations that guide all of our learning, relationship, choice, accessibility, responsiveness, and honouring the roots of yoga. Our intention is to support you in developing practical skills while deepening your capacity to listen, adapt, and create meaningful offerings for the people and communities you walk alongside.

Three Certifications

Yoga for Kids & Teens Certification

Explore developmentally responsive and trauma-informed approaches to sharing yoga with children and adolescents. Learning will include embodied practices, nervous system care, emotional awareness, creativity, play, relationship, and accessible ways of adapting yoga for different ages and needs. Yoga Alliance Certified

Pre & Post-Natal Yoga Certification
Explore relational and trauma-informed approaches to supporting people throughout pregnancy, birth preparation, and the postpartum period.
Learning will include nervous system support, accessible movement, rest, breath, embodiment, community care, and adapting yoga practices throughout the perinatal journey. Yoga Alliance Certified

Yoga Nidra & Restorative Yoga Certification
Explore practices that support rest, regulation, integration, and deepening awareness.

Together, we will explore Yoga Nidra, restorative yoga, nervous system care, accessible practices, and ways of creating environments that support choice, comfort, and rest. Yoga Alliance Approved

Canmore Counselling & Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology School is an Indigenous and Black-owned family business, co-created by Melissa Jay and Michael Yudcovitch.

Our team lives across Turtle Island, and we honour the Nations who continue to nurture these lands. Our primary office is located in Châ Ûpchîchîyen Kudebi (translated from Îyârhe Nakoda as “shooting at the willows”), colonially known as Canmore, on Treaty 7 territory and the current and ancestral lands of the Îyârhe Nakoda (Stoney Nakoda), Tsuut’ina First Nation, and Blackfoot Confederacy. These lands are also home to the Rocky View Métis District 4 within the Battle River Territory.

We are grateful to be students, practitioners, and guides of yoga, an Indigenous wisdom tradition with roots in India and across South Asia and parts of Africa. We are committed to learning from and amplifying South Asian teachers and practitioners while continuing to learn alongside our own students, faculty, and alumni. We believe trauma-informed care requires an active commitment to community, social justice, decolonization, anti-oppression, anti-racism, reciprocity, and meaningful care for people and communities who have been intentionally and historically marginalized.

As a team, we are committed to uplifting Truth, language, culture, and relationship as essential to right relations and to our ongoing work of reconciliation and decolonization. Thank you for being here :)
