Yoga Nidra Certification
August 2nd - 17th, 2025
Led by Anne Douglas
Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), RYT-500, Yoga Nidra Trainer, Anahata Yoga Therapy
At Canmore Counselling & Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology School our trainings are grounded in: decolonization, anti-oppression, social justice, and anti-racism, as these concepts are inherent to trauma-informed care. We emphasize community as essential to healing and self-care as a necessary and practical approach to sustaining ourselves so we can care for others. Our trainings are grounded in Patanjali's Eight Limb Path, designed to foster a deep understanding of yoga ancient roots, beyond physical postures. Alongside Anne Douglas, you will explore meaningful ways to share practices to community care, through Yoga Nidra.
Welcome!
The Yoga Nidra Certification is designed for yoga therapists, yoga teachers, and helping professionals who wish to integrate trauma-informed yoga nidra into their personal practice and therapeutic work. Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice of yogic sleep that facilitates deep relaxation, nervous system regulation, and inner healing.
This Yoga Nidra certification is part of the 800-Hour Yoga Therapy Certification and can also be taken independently. The training includes two immersive weekends led by Anne Douglas, certification mentorship with Alex, and a required book reflection assignment.

Curriculum, led by Anne
Philosophy | Practice | Therapeautic Application
The curriculum is grounded in two frameworks: The Panchamaya Koshas & Eight Healing Pathways of Yoga Nidra
The Panchamaya Koshas
The Panchamaya Kosha are the Five Layers of Being. This model can support us in understanding how healing is possible, and necessary, on multiple levels. The koshas support our understanding of our whole selves without becoming distracted or focusing only on symptoms.
The Five Koshas:
Eight Healing Pathways of Yoga Nidra
You will also deepen into the Eight Healing Pathways. This model expands upon the 5 koshas by integrating three additional healing pathways that deepen the Yoga Nidra experience and help potentiate the therapeutic benefits of yoga therapy. Each pathway offers a unique potential for healing and can be used independently or combined to enhance yoga therapy sessions.
1 ~ Harness the Power of Intention & Make a Wish (The Sankalpa)
2 ~ Your Sanctuary of Inner Peace (The Sankalpa)
3 ~ Feel to Heal (Annamaya Kosha – The Physical Body)
4 ~ Breathe for Ease (Pranamaya Kosha – The Energetic Body)
5 ~ Emotions are Your Superpower (Manomaya Kosha – Mental-Emotional Body)
6 ~ Mindfulness Matters (Vijnanamaya Kosha – The Wisdom Body)
7 ~ Vitamin J for JOY (Anandamaya Kosha – The Bliss Body)
8 ~ Natural & Free: Sahaj (Integration & Wholeness)
