A Greeting from Dr. Amélie (she/her)
Registered Psychologist. Independent Contractor. Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher.
Hello, Bonjour,
I am Amélie Dubé, a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. My hope is to support you and your loved ones on your journey toward a healthier life. Originally from Québec, I speak French and English. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from l’Université Laval, and I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from l’Université de Montréal. Throughout ongoing education and work experiences, I have developed a solid theoretical and practical background in individual, parent-child, family, group, and couple psychotherapy. I have worked in community and residential settings in Montreal, Calgary, Banff, and Canmore. I have over 10 years of experience counselling with children, teenagers, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, trauma, addictions, phase of life problems, stress at work, relational difficulties, and coming from diverse cultural heritages. Having been trained within different theoretical frameworks (ex: attachment theory, family systems therapy, emotionally focused therapy), I like to adjust my approach to what seems the most relevant in a particular context. I am also qualified to do psychoeducational testing and psychological assessments, which I plan to eventually integrate in my private practice. I work from an evidence-based and trauma-informed perspective. I aim to create a safe, compassionate and collaborative environment to promote trust, insight, mindfulness, attunement, meaningful connections, resilience, and emotional regulation. I would be honored to be counselling you. Au plaisir de vous rencontrer! Amélie Dubé, Ph.D., R.Psychologist Practice no. 4311 Pronouns: she/her |
Bonjour,

At Canmore Counselling, we are also privileged to be yoga students, practitioners, and guides. Our offerings centre on the root of yoga as Indigenous to South Asia, and we are grateful to learn from and amplify the South Asian practitioners and teachers whenever possible. We are grateful for the eight limbs of yoga, as taught by Patanjali. It is a joy to walk alongside our incredible alumni of the Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology School as they create opportunities for care, connection & curiosity within their communities.
We believe wholeheartedly that community, social justice, decolonization, anti-oppression, and anti-racism are inherent to trauma-informed care. Thank you for being here.
