Down to earth with a huge open heart, Hayley has been connected and working with healing arts for over 20 years. Hayley's passion and life purpose is to guide transformation and healing within her clients and students.
Hayley is Co-Founder and Co-Owner of Banff Yoga Practice and Banff Wellness Practice. Hayley completed her yoga teacher training with the Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology School so that she could create a calm, safe and healing environment that fosters well-being through movement, meditation, breath work and mindfulness, supporting individuals on and off the mat in her yoga studio.
Hayley is also a Registered Massage Therapist, Reiki Master & Teacher, Cranio-Sacral Therapist, Yoga & Meditation teacher and Birth Educator - Hayley is deeply fulfilled by helping clients find peace and connection within their mind, body and spirit and to help them become the best version of themselves.
Hayley taught Hypno-Birthing for 10 years after seeing the need for support around pregnant parents desiring a more natural birth. Birthing her daughter Hannah in hospital and her daughter Leilah at home - both natural births - Hayley can draw from her own experience to guide women with their mindset and breath, creating a more empowering birth experience. Hayley recently started teaching her own curated birth course - Well Rounded Birth.
With a broad spectrum of healing modalities to work with, Hayley works with her intuitive sense to check into the deeper layers of you, initiating healing not just on the treatment table, but within your life.
Originally from Australia, Hayley settled in Banff 20 years ago, whilst on a journey around the world, where she met her husband and best friend Marcos, soon after arriving. She feels blessed to raise their 2 daughters, Hannah and Leilah, skiing, hiking, backcountry camping, canoeing, paddle boarding and biking in the Rocky Mountains and adventuring to the ocean for surf trips.
Hayley’s love for her community, mountain life and protecting Mother Nature - together with her passion for her healing practices and yoga studio allows her to live a fulfilled life that makes her heart sing.

Dr. Melissa Jay is an Indigenous, Nehiyaw-Métis member of the Métis Nation of Alberta. Canmore Counselling is located Châ Ûpchîchîyen Kudebi (translated from Îyârhe Nakoda as “shooting at the willows”), colonially known as Canmore. The physical location of Canmore Counselling & the Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology is in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, which is considered Treaty 7 land and home of Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III, and the traditional territory of the Îyârhe Nakoda, including the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Wesley First Nations, as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations. As an act of reconciliation and commitment to decolonization, we are committed to the TRC's Calls to Action.
At Canmore Counselling, we are also privileged to be yoga students, practitioners, and guides. Our offerings centre on the root of yoga as Indigenous to South Asia, and we are grateful to learn from and amplify the South Asian practitioners and teachers whenever possible. We are grateful for the eight limbs of yoga, as taught by Patanjali. It is a joy to walk alongside our incredible alumni of the Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology School as they create opportunities for care, connection & curiosity within their communities.
We believe wholeheartedly that community, social justice, decolonization, anti-oppression, and anti-racism are inherent to trauma-informed care. Thank you for being here.
