Born in Bombay, India, Simmi Latulippe (Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner, Ayurvedic Nutritional Therapist, Master Herbalist, Iridologist, Reiki Master, and Hatha Yoga Teacher) stems from generations of traditional Ayurvedic practitioners. Simmi’s great grandfather was the first Ayurvedic Doctor to formulate a traditional herbal digestive formula that was sold to a British Pharmaceutical company. It is believed that the root of many health problems is caused by improper digestion. Simmi’s family introduced her to Ayurvedic medicine, which is not just a medicine or a treatment but an entire way of life that seeks to balance the body using a combination of diet, exercise, meditation/yoga and herbal supplements.
Ayurvedic medicine is an all inclusive holistic science of healing the body, mind and spirit. The central focus of Ayurvedic medicine is that each human being is unique, having a distinct individual constitution, genetic inheritance and a predisposition to certain diseases.
Ayurveda emphasizes preventative and healing therapies. It can guide individuals in the proper choice of diet, living habits and exercise. By restoring balance in the body, mind and consciousness, this enables us to prevent or slow-down the disease process.
Simmi strives to make a difference in promoting overall well-being and improved quality of life. Working with the whole person while listening to the subtle whispers of the body, I have been successful in presenting to large corporate groups or working one on one with individuals who seek a lifestyle change.
Simmi Latulippe is a Functional Medical Consultant, Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner, Clinical Nutritionist, Master Herbalist and Registered Yoga Teacher, who uses a combination of complimentary tools to evaluate and enhance your body’s overall state of health.

Dr. Melissa Jay is an Indigenous, Nehiyaw-Métis member of the Métis Nation of Alberta. Canmore Counselling is located Châ Ûpchîchîyen Kudebi (translated from Îyârhe Nakoda as “shooting at the willows”), colonially known as Canmore. The physical location of Canmore Counselling & the Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology is in the beautiful Rocky Mountains, which is considered Treaty 7 land and home of Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III, and the traditional territory of the Îyârhe Nakoda, including the Bearspaw, Chiniki, and Wesley First Nations, as well as the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Blackfoot Confederacy, including the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations. As an act of reconciliation and commitment to decolonization, we are committed to the TRC's Calls to Action.
At Canmore Counselling, we are also privileged to be yoga students, practitioners, and guides. Our offerings centre on the root of yoga as Indigenous to South Asia, and we are grateful to learn from and amplify the South Asian practitioners and teachers whenever possible. We are grateful for the eight limbs of yoga, as taught by Patanjali. It is a joy to walk alongside our incredible alumni of the Trauma-Informed Yoga Psychology School as they create opportunities for care, connection & curiosity within their communities.
We believe wholeheartedly that community, social justice, decolonization, anti-oppression, and anti-racism are inherent to trauma-informed care. Thank you for being here.
