Testimonials – Ayurveda & Yoga
I started working with Simmi to address a chronic skin issue in July of 2023. With just one in-person appointment, followed by email communication and one phone call, she was able to remarkably help heal my skin. I’d seen dermatologists and multiple doctors about this with help controlling the issue, but little actual healing. Now I use close to no medication to manage this issue and am extremely grateful for the healing work that we’ve done together thus far. I highly recommend Simmi as an Ayurvedic Doctor.

Simmi made me feel very welcomed and comfortable to share all my concerns with. I was amazed and astounded with what Simmi was able to pick up on and tap into regarding my health that no Western medicine doctor has either acknowledged or taken seriously. I see many different specialists for each of my health conditions and the difference with Simmi is that she takes a whole-body approach which I very much appreciated!
I would highly recommend Simmi to anyone seeking optimal health and wellness.

I have benefited from Simmi’s diagnostic support for more than fifteen years. I am continually impressed with the accuracy of her facial diagnosis. She has precisely identified an iron deficiency, depreciated adrenal energy and had pinpointed digestion challenges. Over time, her feedback has been validated by additional health practitioners and in some instances backed up
in medical testing.
I have also grown in my confidence in Simmi’s muscle testing skills. Both my daughter and I have trust in her ability to read the body and provide accurate feedback on the suitability of specific medications.
We will continue to value Simmi’s input in our health management.

Simmi is one of the most skilled yoga teachers I have ever met! She has an exceptional breadth and depth of yoga knowledge and experience which she generously brings to her teaching. Because Simmi is also a yoga therapist, her yoga shapes are trauma informed and therapeutic. I love the flawlessness and fluidity of her classes - I always leave her classes feeling like my whole body, mind and spirit have just been rejuvenated!
I first met Simmi in 2000 when she was teaching Yin Yoga at the Gaia Yoga Studio in Three Sisters. I had already been practicing yoga off and on for several years in both Edmonton and Calgary. After Gaia closed, I continued to attend Simmi’s classes at the Yoga Lounge in downtown Canmore until 2018, when I moved away from Canmore.
During the pandemic that began in 2020, the Lounge began to offer classes via Zoom so I was very fortunate to be able to continue to attend Simmi’s classes online. Though I know I could now find “in person” classes where I live, I choose to continue with Simmi’s livestreamedclasses. The reason I keep going back to her classes? They are simply the Best!

I have always had an interest in health promotion and disease prevention and early on became aware of the strengths and limitations of Western Medicine. When I discovered that in addition to Yoga, Simmi was also a Master Herbalist, a Nutritional Therapist and a practitioner of Ayurvedic Medicine I was curious to find out more. I consulted with Simmi regarding a few minor health issues and discovered so much more… She introduced me to my particular “Vikriti” or disease tendency based on my “Nature” when out of balance. She suggested various herbs, spices, foods, beverages, aromatic oils and lifestyle habits that could be implemented to find better balance and support my Nature at its best. It was fascinating and extremely helpful! She also integrated the most effective yoga postures, meditations and chants for my Nature. Over the years I have incorporated many of Simmi’s suggestions and I find myself in much better balance much more of the time. I continue to consult with Simmi to tweak suggested strategies, herbal and nutritional supplements. She truly is a treasure chest of knowledge, experience and practical applications that work with body, mind and spirit. I really appreciate Simmi’s warm, professional manner and her holistic functional/ integrative approach. I consider her to be a key
healer in my health journey!

From my experience I would highly recommend Simmi as a food consultant to fit one’s needs. I had a test done which indicated low levels of serotonin & dopamine. Simmi designed an eating plan to address those levels. It was simple & easy to follow. I felt better and had increased energy.

Simmi is extraordinary. That is one of the many words I would use to describe her brilliance. Simmi has been helping me navigate my health for at least 8 years with the last 4 focusing on peri-menopause. With natural supplements, I have been able to avoid prescription drugs I would have had to take for the rest of my life. At one point, I had issues with my thyroid and was told if I didn’t get a handle on it I would need medication for the rest of my life. Within three months, it was under control. My medical doctor could not believe it. The hot flashes and mood swings were also handled with her guidance and recommendations. I am forever grateful for her amazing care. I would highly recommend seeing her and have her help you through these, sometimes, tough times.

I’ve always been interested in achieving balance and health naturally and was looking for a practitioner to help with this goal. Meeting Simmi was one of the best things in my and my husband’s lives. She helped us to understand our Vedic individualities and what we need to do using food, supplements and yoga to maintain and improve our well being. She definitely knows her stuff, is easy to talk with and encourages us to take care of ourselves. We very much appreciate having Simmi as a competent and caring guide for our health and wellness journeys.

I had an initial consultation with Simmi today, she was empathetic to my concerns and asked thought provoking questions to get down to the root cause of my symptoms. She was supportive and non judgmental the whole time, allowing us to get answers quickly and easily. She then worked with me to create a plan that fit into my lifestyle and one that I am looking forward to implement. Very grateful to have planted the seeds of progress and looking forward to seeing growth. Would highly recommend Simmi to anyone seeking to improve their holistic wellbeing.
